The Midnite Shoveller

A new persona I’ve been working on lately is this one here, the furtive and restless (and ambidextrous) Midnite Shoveler.  Not only did I shovel around the Abbot Café as a pre-dawn surprise for Sana when she arrives to open, but also, a few pedestrian crossings through the snowbanks from the street plows.  Several police cruisers cruised by; a few with their cherries on.  None of them stopped to question my shoveling or my shovel, nor even to compliment my industry.  I sort of hoped one might think I was a either a meth head with a stolen shovel, so that I could surprise and amaze them with my manners and cognitive functions and keen sense of the art & science of snow shoveling, or perhaps a neighborly citizen deserving of a complimentary Get Of Jail Free card.  But no.  Not tonight.

Maybe next time.

Here’s one of the canine runways (gradual elevation to lawn) I burrowed off the main walk at our place.
