Days Without Sugar: I am not all that

Running around trying to pull off an ecologically less-evil, or even conscious, indie film, it is remarkable how many media requests flood in for the front window count-up registering life without desserts or sweets or juice or candy or treats.

Look, I am a binge sugarholic and I have made a good change away from awful, even sickening habits.

Coffee mug of maple syrup?  Watch three disappear in a social evening.  I love to eat sweet stuff until I’m just about almost sick.  I’m like a boa constrictor for sweet treats.

I feel good about the changes I have made but seriously, I eat rice, I eat apples and even bananas, and I have milk and other no-added-sugar dairy products, and when I am pushed for time and hungry, I succumb to a Jr Chicken Sandwich on the run.  I wish it were a better option, but it’s not two donuts and a chocolate milk.  People tell me all these things are sugar.  I am working on it.

People say milk and rice and even no-sugar bread are all sugar.

A total stranger snapped at me that broccoli is sugar; he was vexed by the window.

I’m sorry if the window is mislabeled.  It’s unintentional.  “DAYS WITHOUT CANDY DONUTS ICE CREAM ROOT BEER CHOCOLATE JUICE CAKE PIE GUMMIES JAM AND COOKIE DOUGH” would never have left room for any numbers, anyways.  The words are painted with stencils and they are of a certain size.

I’m working on the dairy and occasional corn chips.  I doubt I will ever give up apples or sweet potatoes.

It is nice if people like or enjoy the window or think it is fun.  I am not really looking to be on TV or in the news – I am a poor spokesperson for giving up sugar.  Really, I have crazy stupid mortal habits and flaws pouring out my ears.  Gulping jars of jam is just one I am working on improving.

We are all just mere humans.

If you want to give up sugar, don’t feel bad if you fall off the wagon.  I always did; it wasn’t helpful.

On the other hand, declaring to the world I was going to try and change a lousy habit turned out quite quite helpful.
